Getting Started
Initialize your workspace, connect your first database, and prepare for agentic workflows.
Getting Started with Datalinc
Setting up Datalinc takes just a few minutes. This guide walks you through the essential steps to configure your workspace (Center) and connect your first data source.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have:
- Workspace Administrator permissions in your Datalinc organization.
- Connection credentials for your external databases (if migrating existing data).
- (Optional) An API key from an LLM provider (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) if you plan to use Agentic AI.
Step 1: Create a Datalinc Center
A Center is your isolated tenant environment. It holds all your databases, files, and agent configurations securely.
- Log into your dashboard.
- In the global navigation, click + New Center.
- Provide a name and optional logo for your Center.
- Click Create.
Tip
You can quickly switch between Centers at any time using the workspace switcher located at the top-left of the sidebar.
Step 2: Provision Storage & Data
Before an AI agent can do anything useful, it needs data.
- Navigate to Data & Storage > Virtual Databases.
- Click Initialize Database.
- Select your engine (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and configure your schema.
- Wait for the provisioning sequence to complete.
Note
All databases provisioned through Datalinc are fully isolated from other tenants on the platform. Your connection strings are encrypted at rest.
Next Steps
With your Center online and your storage provisioned, you are ready to configure the intelligence layer.
